Can't believe we found such authentic Vietnamese food here! Having pho in the middle of a long road trip is such a treat :)

Some really dependable Pho, pho sho! On our last day in Sioux Falls, my family and I ate so much the whole weekend that we sought something lighter. Lam's was the answer. To start, the Egg Rolls tasted yummy and fresh while the Fried Tofu was surprisingly light and delicate with a thin, crunchy "skin". I ordered a small Combo Pho of chuck roast, beef balls, and rare eye round. The pho broth was amazing and even more so with the addition of bean sprouts, lime juice, and mint leaves. The quality of these motivated us to order a Meat Bun and Banh Mi sandwiches stuffed with beef balls, pickled papaya, jalapeno, cilantro, and more to take with us on our trip back to New Jersey. We whipped them out on the plane from Sioux Falls to O'Hare and boy, was everyone else jealous. While the bread could have used a little toasting, they smelled and tasted sooo good.

Food is authentic and tasty, but pricy and small portion. Im comparing it to what I get at Boston, not sure if this size and price is normal in this area.

The food here is fantastic. The coffee is perfect. Spring rolls and pork buns? Spot on. Service? Sparkling. Price? Affordable. Everything scratch every plate of food made with fresh ingredients and love. Go forth and eat noodles.

I had the spring rolls which were good and shared them with my brother. He had a pork and egg dumpling thing which was outstanding. I order the Pho combo which was delicious. It was a lot of food and was tough to finish everything. I would recommend Lams to anyone looking for some good food at a good price. Their chili sauce has a great garlic and chili taste.

This is a stop we look forward to on our semi-annual jaunts across SD. This place is IT! Delicious. Love the seasons bowls (with noodles, meats and veggies) as well as the banh mi and fresh spring rolls and pork buns and, and, and.....basically, you can't miss here. Cheap, healthy, clean, refreshingly unassuming. It's just about the food here, not the decor or being seen. What more can you ask for? Give those French fries, iceberg lettuce, and burgers a break and tap Lam's address into your GPS. You'll be so glad you did. The chef, Hai Lam, has been nominated by his chef peers as one of the best chefs in America, and he deserves it. Google the BCA website, search your hometown, and chances are all the nominees will be chefs at very high end places (expensive, dressy, head trippy). Lam's is none of these. We had an appetizer, two banh mi, a small soup, and a noodle bowl for $27. That's incredible for food of this quality. A real treasure.

I grew up in the neighborhood that is just north of Lam's and so my interest was piqued about this restaurant for quite awhile. A few months ago I finally had a chance to swing past the old 'hood with friends and give Lam's a try. It was my first time trying Vietnamese food and I was instantly hooked on the Spring bowl- in fact, I crave it almost consistently and now eat it almost weekly either dining in or carry out. The flavors are just so light and fresh. My husband and I have also tried the spring rolls (great!), and he's a fan of the shrimp fried noodles. The service and food quality is always consistent, and I've even converted my parents (both in their 60's) to the awesomeness that is Lam's. Seriously, if you think a place like this isn't for you, think again and give it a try- you will be glad you did.

Ate at Lam's for the first time in a couple years tonight. Same great management and the pho soup was as good as I remembered. Glad to see they had a most of the tables seated, they deserve it. Sioux Falls is lucky to have them.

Everything is top notch. Top top place. Foodwise it is probably the best I've had in Sioux Falls. Everything on the menu is a must have.

Ate here a while back. I didn't have a yelp back then, but I still want to give them a review and 5 stars because they deserve it. - Environment is very nice, place is clean and well kept. Pleasant place to be and temperature is just right. - The customer service was VERY excellent! I'm big on customer service. Food came out at a timely manner, was treated with respect. Cups were filled before needing to ask. - Now for the FOOD! .. Nearly everything you see on the menu has a picture for it...and unlike most places, the food at Lam's comes out as delicious as it looks on the picture! Major bonus! Their food tastes excellent. I had the combo bowl with noodles, shrimp, beef and veggies. Delicious!! delicious!!! My friends had Pho and it was on point! - Price.. Very reasonable! You could pay almost double elsewhere for the good food you get here for fairly cheap! Good portion of good and the right amount of meat! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes delicious food. Have a great day!

Discovered this great place by accident. Best noodle bowl I've had for awhile. Very nice people and great service. Place is very clean and looks like an old church on the outside.

Ventured here on the way home from Minnesota to find a steaming bowl of pho and warm smiles of Vietnamese comfort. The pho had a great base broth and meat (beef/pork) was tasty and moist. It's always a good sign when you see Vietnamese people eating in their own restaurants! One knows it's authentic. My boys and I thank you for a yummy lunch!

Loved it! Food is really flavorful as well as light and fresh. And the Vietnamese iced coffee is really good. Would definitely go back!

Ate there last night and it was my first time trying Pho after seeing it on so many TV shows that I watch. I tried the Pho DB which was the beef combination. It was fantastic. I'm a soup fanatic and this is a new favorite. The broth was great and then to add in the layers of flavor with Sri Racha, Hoisin, lime, mint, and sprouts sent it over the top. Also had the eggrolls and they were good also. This will be a regular stop. Really looking forward to trying the other versions including the spicy Pho. I used the chopsticks, it wasn't pretty but I'm getting better. The other thing that was so impressive was the restaurant itself. It appears to be in a small church converted into a restaurant. It was very clean and bright. The staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were spotless. Matty approved!

The food was excellent!! But the service was spotty. I would go again. The pho was some of the best I have had in awhile!

Super Good. Might not be the best Vietnamese in the US, but absolutely great considering it is in the wild wild midwest. Pho and the seasonal bowls are great and the food is fresh. Always have with the hot tea. Dessert menu additions would have made it a 5-stars.

The food was great. The service was attentive. We tried while into to visit family. Will definitely cone again. I has the summer salad. Spring rolls were tasty.

This is a solid family restaurant - great food at good prices. It's a bit short on ambience, with few decorations and plain furnishings. When I went on a Wed night it was 3/4 full. Service is fast and friendly. The food is great. I had the Summer Bowl - grilled pork and shrimp on a bed of noodles and greens. The pork and shrimp were tender and flavorfull and the greens and cucumbers fresh and crispy. My 7 yr-old son had the fried noodles with chicken and vegetables. He ate all of it - it was flavorful and not too greasy.

I have had pho in many places, and the pho here is the best by far. it is surprising to find a place like this here in a small town. Come and you won't be disappointed. P.S. I created a yelp account for this place.

Lam's is the most amazingly fresh Asian food I have ever had. Generous portions, reasonable prices, and Fantastically delicious dishes. The Pho is great, especially now that it is winter. I almost always order the stir fry noodle combo. Tip: Be sure to add some of the roasted chili paste to the sweet fish sauce and pour it over everything.

I love the food here. Always fresh and delicious. Parking is the only annoyance for me.

Excellent food! I was very surprised by the homemade bao & homemade hot sauces. We ordered the appetizer platter and summer bowls. The summer rolls or fresh rolls were some of the best I've had. The contents were well distributed throughout and it taste des very fresh & crisp. The service was quick which worked well for us & they brought the Vietnamese iced coffee in a to-go-cup with out us even asking! This was a great alternative to fast food on our road trip cross country.

Edible but not delicious. Probably would not stop again when I'm passing through town. Spring roll wrapper was rubbery, egg roll was fried too long and burned on the ends, and the vegetable stirfry was a little too oily and filled with tofu which I had noted that I did NOT want. Honestly, the only redeeming factor about my experience here was the waitress who is clearly a high school girl who was kind and generously gave her opinion on the dishes that I asked about. I will say though the Pho looked good ...now if only I would have ordered it!

Vietnamese-American reviewer: I like it! I'm from San Francisco where there is a large Vietnamese community and plenty of Vietnamese restaurants. I suggest ordering the,"Hue-Style Pho." Which looks like a slightly spicy red bowl of soup served with noodles, shredded cabbage & lime juice. Traditional it's served with a purple colored shrimp paste that has a distinctive odor. They didn't have that condiment available. My friend ordered the Autumn bowl which is also one of my favorite dishes. My only complaint is that they prepare the food TOO SLOW! My friend was going to faint, waiting over half an hour!

Very good Vietnamese, As with all good Vietnamese food, the dishes were fresh, flavorful, and not nearly as salty or greasy as, say, typical Chinese. From DC, but would happily go back to Lam's should I be back in Sioux Falls again.

Lam's is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant in SIoux Falls. The Lam brothers wait the tables while mom and dad turn out some amazing food in the kitchen. While the location has some things to be desired, a place this good deserves to be closer to the center of town. Ambience shouldn't distract one from the food, which is nothing less than phenomenal. Their pho is the best I've ever had. The broth is rich and well seasoned but not overwhelming. Clearly a great amount of time was spent extracting a fine stock from bones. The meat is high enough quality to stand as an entree. I prefer my pho with the rare eye of round. The meat is served raw on the side, dress much like a Vietnamese carpaccio. Simply take a piece of the wafer thin slice of beef and waft it through the steaming hot broth to cook it ever so slightly. Don't let the meat sit too long in the broth, it will start to loose it's flavor and become rubbery. Another pho dish at Lam's I'm fond of is bum bo hue. It has a spicier and more savory broth with a heavier rice noodle. The soup also contains both slices of pork loin and beef brisket. It is served with a table salad of cabbage, mint, peppers and lime. Adding the mint to the soup plays an interesting trick with your taste buds, you'd swear it was a lamb stew. If you're not in the mood for soup they have a selection of seasonal bowls, rice noodles with an assortment of season appropriate toppings. Fried rice and their roasted chicken is also worth a try. Lam's has become one of my favorite restaurants in Sioux Falls. It has also become a favorite of numerous others as well, the last few visits it's been crowded. Not to the point were we were told to wait but enough to get the last available table.

My friends and I enjoy going to this place. They are consistent with their quality of food. The food is full of flavor, fresh, and in large proportions. Thai iced coffee has a lot of cream and sugar making it an amazing dessert. Get a spring roll and/or bun bao for an appetizer, you will not be disappointed.

Definitely worth the stop and you'll find many others that agree. I went here during lunch with my wife and it was packed. In fact, they were so busy, they didn't even have an opportunity to clear the empty tables. Although, there were only two servers, I think this was probably adequate. They have the typical Vietnamese-fare, which includes pho, banmese sanwiches, grilled pork/steak rice dishes, and other noodle dishes as well. They also have spring rolls, egg rolls, and fried tofu as well. The typical dish is about $9.99 so its a good price for a fair amount of food. We had the chicken and shrimp noodles for $9.99 and also the beef cubes with fried rice for $11.99. The portions are more than enough to fill you up. You'll also find Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee as well. (Only one refill for the Thai iced tea and no refills for the Vietnamese coffee.) There is plenty of hot sauce avaiable as well for those who like it hot. The decor is modern, yet simple. It is very clean and clearly constructed fairly recently. There was a large lunch crowd when we came through and honestly we only came here because of the positive reviews we had read. Its a nice restaurant that is ideal for lone, couples, or family diners. Nice place.

Didn't expect to find such a solid vietnamese restaurant in the middle of South Dakota. Thanks to Yelp we found this place while driving cross country on I-90 - its pretty close to the freeway. Good service, fresh entrees and a nice selection of food. I got the Spring Platter and the shrimp and noodles were great. My lady's bowl of Pho was tasty and plenty spicy. Such a good option instead of fast food

I have been there twice and both times the service was good and the food was fabulous! I had the summer season bowl both times (I loved it that much!). The flavors are very complex yet light! It was wonderful!

Better than many Vietnamese offerings in larger cities. The restaurant (and bathrooms) are immaculate and kid-friendly. The staff is friendly and attentive, even when the dining area is quite busy. The food is always fresh and expertly prepared by one of two chefs (and the only way you'll know who prepared your food is to peer through the window into the kitchen: it is always excellent and indistinguishable between chefs). The pork combo is one of my favorites; you will not leave hungry. The Pho is sublime and tasty; equal in quality to a pho house in Honolulu that has a daily huge line outdoors for service. A wonderful family-owned business, where I have never had a bad meal.
